Self-limiting beliefs are generated as we get older or as a result of negative events in the past. To prevent ourselves from facing it again, we start thinking about all the awful things that may happen or all the bad things that we are. We bash ourselves down, telling ourselves things like, “I’m useless,” “I’m uninteresting,” and so on. Here’s what you can do to get beyond this significant barrier:
? Test your beliefs.
It will be incredibly difficult whenever you spot yourself “self-limiting,” but proving your negativity wrong will surely help! You could begin by assuring yourself to “stop” whenever you have a negative thought.
? Investigate the origins of these beliefs.
Analyze what event or scenario in the past led you to form these self-limiting ideas in the first place. It will help you in understanding what to do and how to overcome this barrier of beliefs.
? Create a positive self-belief.
When you encounter a self-limiting belief that causes you to feel insecure or demotivated, consider setting a positive belief to resist the negative. Create a belief that will motivate you to get up and achieve your goals!
